That’s actually not a surprise as holiday demand typically hits a lull from 1900 Christmas Eve until 1600 Boxing Day.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I see that today’s 77W GZND (Flightradar24)is the premium version. 4F 60J 44W 204Y.

I guess that’s a nice gift for some customers , if this is a last minute change.

The information on this is from flightradar24 app and planespotters website.
If anyone is curious feel free to double check my post. I did notice on Air France website they have only 3 configurations with one 77W with 296 seats which I give a little more weight to. Planespotters has GZND with First class and 312 seats. The plane I do believe was refurbished this past summer. Previous stops for GZND in past days were Miami,JFK,LAX and Tel Aviv— premium markets.

AC has already cancelled the first three YYZ departures for tomorrow morning (all would be arriving this evening) as well as the YUL (inbound RON) and YVR (inbound red-eye) flights. CUN is still scheduled - although the flight today was cancelled with a maintenance issue. We'll see if any Rapidair turns get upgauged once the storm passes.

I also a Facebook post from Canadian North that they moved this evening's YFB-YOW flight to depart three hours early at 1600 because of the storm.

AC888 is 16/20 J and 20/21 PY tonight.

Noticed there was an extra YOW-CUN flight on a Rouge 321, AC2012/2013 (presumably a makeup for AC1412/1413 that were cancelled yesterday).

Looks like WS are sacrificing the CUN departure today at 1000 for a ferry to YQB that was supposed to depart at 1000 (delayed to 1130). WS to YYZ also cancelled.

Appears the CUN-YQB flight diverted here last night, hence the ferry: https://www.flightaware.com/live/flight/CFYJD/history/20251229/1915Z/MMUN/CYQB

Also seems that the PUJ-YOW flight didn't return last night either, leaving YOW an aircraft short.

In that case the pax would have RON’d here, so add one more departure for yesterday.

AC889 was full Y, 14/20 J and 19/21 PY. AC888 tonight is 11/20 J and 14/21 PY.

2025 saw PD's continued expansion, with YYJ, NAS, PVR, CUN, GCM and LIR all inaugurating. It also saw LAS cut. AC resumed LHR service, and launched a weekly YOW-NAS flight. They also resumed daily flights to YFC and YQM.

Looking ahead to 2026, we already know PD will launch MIA and PHX in the early weeks of 2026. What else do they have in store? Will YMM end up launching after all after a false start this year? We also know that TS is launching a 3x weekly LGW flight this summer. Hopefully 2026 is the year YOW eclipses 5M pax again!

With the already known planned capacity increases, surpassing 2018’s record is very possible, but surpassing 4 million domestically like 2018 is unlikely. As for PD, I’d put any of YLW, YXE, YQR and YDF ahead of YMM actually coming to fruition. Still wish they would start DH4’ing at least daily to YQG, YXU, YKF, YHM & YSB. Not only would that generate more regional O&D, it would provide substantial feed to the YOW hub…which is far from realizing its potential. Time will tell. One thing’s for sure, PD need to substantially increase their aircraft utilization if they ever want to start turning a profit.

Upgauges galore today - LHR is a 789 and CDG is a 77W. Economy is full on AC889 and it was 24/30 in J and 17/21 PY. AC888 is full in Y and PY, and 20/30 in J. The flights next operate on Wednesday.

Additionally, it seems AC450 from/to YYZ filed as a 77L.

AC455 is the return. So as of now

AC455 77L departs 14:55
AF328 77W arrives 15:05
AC889 789 arrives 15:11
AC342 789 arrives 15:22

AC 455 is on 28, AF 328 is on 17, AC 345 is on 28 and AC 888 is also on 28. Given this, I’m guessing AC 889 will arrive on 15 and then get towed to a remote stand for a few hours.

Today's departure count: 86

Sun flights count (both transborder & international): 15

Today's cancellation count (so far): 2

With AC's 4x YTZ + DCA + YQB + YYC resuming next week, as well as PD increasing PVR to 5x weekly meaning PVR will run on Fridays, my bet is a week from today we'll break the post 2020 departure record, even if some other routes see reductions from the Xmas peak.
