Being nicely finished. I don't see any spandrel windows either. No surprise, It's Montreal.

I like how a simple pattern can create a really dynamic look on a tower. The only part I don't like are the corners, I feel like they were an after thought. But overall a solid tower.

I see your point from a design aesthetic point of view. However, the corners in consideration of the concrete structure show thought. You found spandrel glass that I missed and that stands for something

There's some superficial similarities to One Yorkville so I'll go with it. One Yorkville's execution representative of the standard in Toronto is indefensible by comparison.

^^To me the corners feel a bit awkward, but that's such a tiny thing and I'm still loving how this structure is turning out. It's nice to see a trend of concrete being used as and architectural element again. Very 60's, 70's, like a modern take on brutalism.

Loving it, I thought it would be more black though. It looks like they used very porous concrete I've seen go on Building in Toronto that don't age very well. After a few winters on the lower floors you can actually start to see salt stains from winter traffic. The built form is very nice though, the exterior can be cleaned and in time replaced if needed.

I Square Phillips is looking good, it could be part of Edmonton's ICE District.

I like this one, but I wish the first two floors were given the same level of articulation and detailing as the rest of the building, and at least in some way related to the overall design. You see this in a lot of tower now - a flat, featureless expanse of glass at the ground level, and the "real" design starting a floor or two above. It's disjointed, and unfortunate as the part of the building that you're actually experiencing at street level is the least interesting.

900 St-Jacques looks great.

I see what your saying, but I think from street level the glass works better then had they brought the entire pyramid design down to the ground floor. BY keeping it all glass it gives the structure a sense of airiness from the outside looking in, and connects those inside the lobby level to the environment outside, kind of like Mies tower designs. They could have continued the same angle profile with glass though, that would have been cool.

Mies' towers are still richly detailed at street level. This just looks like an afterthought.

Doesn't have to be extruded down to ground level either, could just be something as simple as carrying the textured pre-cast motif through to break up the monotony of the glass.

You can't see it in that photo, but the glass portion extends up the building breaking up the pre-cast. On the side, the pre-cast portion extends to grade as well. Here is a slightly better angle: https://maps.app.goo.gl/A7BAofA1FrfiWJjM8

I agree that the glass is better than if the Pyramid cladding was carried down to the ground. Doesn't mean there couldn't be room for improvement over the sheets of glass. However, Like T3 Bayside, the sheets of glass on the ground floor are carried out elsewhere in the design.

TD Cente isn't big on ground floor spaces and I'm a fan of the style. The towers typically have outdoor stone clad cores (elevators, stairwells, etc. ) with climate controlled elevator lobbies. It's like many Vancouver condos such as Concord Brentwood. Low interactive spaces compared to the opportunities with ground floor sheets of glass

I work right behind the Innovation Centre and it does look excellent in person. Given this is the corner building of a relatively grandiose (by Toronto/Canadian standards) intersection I think the open aspect works. It helps that the glass is very good quality, though currently a bit dirty. When they get around to the second tower I'd prefer something a bit more hemmed in. Can't recall what the design calls for on that one right now.
