They already announced it won't close until 2025 which probably is enough time for T&T to invest in the space and then probably relocate as new phases get built.

Um, yeah, maybe by then the market might have recovered. But I wouldn't bet on business paradigms forged in an era of ultralow interest rates, when pre-sales weren't reported to Canada Revenue Agency and before Canada started tax info with China.

You are right: specifically the northeast and southeast corners.

The new T&T is open 8 am - 12 am 7 days a week. Are any of the other stores keeping those hours?

I noticed the Boboli store on South Granville has a For Lease sign on it. Are they moving?

ok, good to know. A lot of vlogs on the store, they all seem excited about the seafood that you can buy it and they cook it in the store for you.

The old Sport Mart location on Broadway and Ash has a new occupant: Henry's Camera:

This is the first time the chain has opened a store in BC; they primarily have stores in Ontario, and one store in Winnipeg.

I wonder what sort of concessions the LL had to make on that space given how long it sat empty and how much they were asking for the space. Always thought it would be a Joeys etc that would open in there.

In other news (and more restaurant related) Looks like the Joeys at Granville and Broadway has closed and the space is now up for lease.

I think that was sold as a redevelopment site last year, so maybe they couldn't renegotiate a lease.

Looks like all the Town Shoes locations are being shuttered. Another hole in South Granville, which already has a lot of vacant storefronts.

I am sure they will open when there is a new space constructed cause what there is now isn't worthy

Retail Insider article says that most of the Vancouver area Uniqlo stores (other than Metrotown) are much smaller than the Toronto area stores.

The only flagship in Canada is Toronto Eaton Centre. I think they reserve their LED ticker for flagship stores only. CF Eaton Centre is the only store in Canada to get the INNES DE LA FRESSANGE collaboration/collection, you can also get it online.

They have said that the sales in Canada are more than expected and Vancouver is their best performing market so far. They must be looking for space downtown and have the patience to do so.

The metrotown store is always busy, lineup to pay everytime. I've been to the guildford store a few times and it has been quiet, like me and maybe 5 other customers and never a lineup to pay. The Richmond store was really busy though when I went there. Coquitlam Centre has lost Old Navy and The gap, at least Uniqlo will be a good replacement.

Just looked at the Coquitlam Centre website
- didn't realize they have a T&T out there.
