This is insane and this thread has gone off the rails.

Yep. There needs to be a political discussion thread or something or better yet, just take that crazy shit to reddit where it belongs.

Stereotypes...please. If you wanted a stereotype look in your mirror. I'm a single father who won custody from the dead beat mother, work full time and own my house, 75% of my friends are Croatian. But hey keep bashing white canadians with your stereotypical bullshit. Your probably a closet racist.

I'm also University Educated, BSe in Environmental Biology but no one wants to go work out of town anymore when you have kids. Plus the Environmental jobs now sucks compared to 5-10 years ago..no one wants to do that work anymore.

I'm pretty sure that was the intent for the creation of the Western Expresso thread on here was to house all the BS not related to Constrution. Tends to be more MB focused, but would be an appropriate spot for this discussion:

Unfortunately one appears to have popped in to spout off similar extreme views.

On my AM walk this morning, and Argyle/St. Pius School is coming along nicely. Lots of exterior work on the northern portion of the building. The brick and paneling is a little darker than I expected but maybe it'll grow on me. I was hoping for a Douglas Park/Arcola School type architectural feel but I guess this is better than nothing.

Also, I can't wait for them to demolish to old Argyle School because those "sandwich" roman bricks on the gym area aren't made anymore and I would like to have a few spares on hand for my chimney. You know... just in case!

That school is massive. Its almost like this time they decided to put all the classrooms inside and not immediately add 12 portables to a brand new building.

I expect there will be at least one school consolidation project on the go for the next 2 decades until all the small single story schools are gone. Joan of Arc, Ruth M Buck, McClurg and Josaphat will likely get merged at some point given their proximity.

A sizable mountain of aggregate is taking shape out at the Cargill crushing plant site. Several large piles of scraped off top soil as well.

Not in construction but my guess would be that every concrete slab needs a compacted base of aggregate below it. Then a base would need to laid down for all the roads and the rail line. Adds up quickly.

Bye bye Burns Hanley building. If this actually results in Harvard moving forward with their new tower then cool. But I’m not too optimistic that anything positive will come from this for many years. Experience Regina

Can't believe this old decrepit building is getting so much press coverage. The Riel "connection" is brought up constantly but this building didn't even exist when Riel was around. Not every old building needs to be treated like it's a national treasure.
