Personally I think this design is great. I love the angles, colors, the staggered look on the condo portions, the crown and amenity levels... it all looks great, and everyone I've shown this design to has really liked it as well.

I like the design more than the height. The interaction with Red River and Waller Creek is also even better than the height.

When does work start on making this one a reality? Groundbreaking timeline?

We don't know. It's still in the permitting process. Flooding/Waller Creek tunnel/Atlas 14 issues seem to be the hold up.

This to me says it's probably going to be a few years from now.

They still have the Republic Tower to market as well. It will be interesting to see whether The Republic or 92 Red River becomes their marketing focus after 6xG.

The crown is what I hate most of this building...I Think it would look so much better if a spire was added to it. Otherwise it's just a silly giant shed roof

This one seems good to go, and a high end hotel brand is on board.

The site plan changes are still awaiting approval. The open items seem to be related to flooding and right of way issues - not the building. That will all be sorted out and approved.

Source?

Any idea as to the brand?

Do they have construction financing?

The source on the hotel is one of the anonymous leakers that provided elevations before news of this project was public. Brand not specified, but the often used "five star hotel" was used to describe it. No comment yet on financing.
