Good!!

It's a safety hazard.

Can you imagine in the instance of a fire in one of the towers, when the Fire department receives a call reporting the fire from a specific floor (from residents who don't know any better) but then arriving and getting conflicting information from the building managers or heading to the wrong floor?

Obviously the firefighters would likely be able to figure it out quickly enough (one would hope) but then what about the not-very well informed residents or non-residents of the building trying to get to safety?

Marketing and sales teams and probably some developers will hate it (since it will obviously hurt sales with certain demographics), but in the interest of public safety (and just plain common sense), it's probably for the best that the city puts its foot down and drag everyone into the 21st Century like the rest of the sane world.

Was in the mall today, goodness more stores have closed and it was pretty quiet other than the Food Court and London Drugs. Not much else though.
Parking is also very difficult with the construction. Most people in the mall were just walking around nobody really shops there anymore.

Look at the bright side, it'll be a lot easier to knock down the existing mall and rebuild the site in a much better planned way

Shape Properties can start losing money if all shops are closing down inside the existing Brentwood mall

They're probably making enough money with the condo sales and the new retail that will open to offset any temporary fall in rents from the old mall portion.

Yeah, posted a few pages back.

The interesting part is the redevelopment of the existing Sear store (anchor below 2 floors of mall retail) and the new 3 storey department store anchor at the east side of the site.

Sorry, I'm not that familiar with this project and I don't get there that often. Where exactly is T3 supposed to be? As best as I could tell, the entire area in green on the diagram below is excavated/under construction.

I wish I could fly a drone over the site to get some pics. It's so big and complicated and as it approaches grade it will get harder and harder to photograph from ground level. Some of the best vantage points are from the mall but when I was trying to do that yesterday I found myself surrounded by three security guards and they made it very clear to me that "there is no public photography allowed on the property". I was told I would have to get back out to the sidewalk along Willingdon or Lougheed Highway to continue taking pics.
