Both stadiums .. Winnipeg's actual proposal for a building and Regina's economic study use very similar seating capacity.. ~30,000 .. expandable to 45,000.

In all honesty there is absolutely no actual plan in Saskatchewan nor any backing what so ever(government hasn't signed anything, and no private money yet)... it is just a study. It is where Winnipeg was 5 years ago, when the Bombers were looking at the Exhibition grounds. If Regina does eventually deside to go ahead with a stadium in the future I can assure you it will not look like the generized pics provided.

There is nothing I love more than seeing a packed stadium during an important game!!!

And its good to see that its not just packed but loud... when comparing other fans I'd have to say we have some of the loudest/best fans in the league!!! half time so far good game!

Hopefully the architects/engineers have more sense than those who built B.C place and build around acoustics/ visual quality, because that is one boring place to sit and watch a CFL game

If they go after a grander version of the atmosphere of CanWest Park (Goldeyes stadium), as they once said they would, it will be a great place to watch a game or concert.

Yes the bowl design will be great!!

I also think having the concessions overlooking the field, as they have at Goldeyes games, will make a great ammenity. Add the interactive Blue Bomber Hall of Fame, club seating, restaurant/lounge, luxury boxes and Winnipeg will have a best stadium in the CFL.

Did Asper put up part or all of Creswin for Canwest's line of credit? If so, then Asper's pretty much out of the picture, given Canwest's financial meltdown.

Winnipeg watching closely as Canwest seeks creditor protection

Quote:
Creswin "has been doing business all over North America and they've been successful ... so one has nothing to do with the other," said the mayor. "Other than the fact that the name Asper is involved in Creswin, there is no tie-in between the two."

Nope ... Creswin is a completely separate business.

In actual fact the future revenue of the proposed retail development behind Polo Park will fund the new Blue Bomber stadium. Creswin owns many retail and commercial developments and this will be an addition to there real estate portfolio.

You should really do your homework on this one.. you seem very mixed up and confused. Let me assure Creswin has absolutely nothing to do with Canwest, other then it owns the tower which houses the Head Office of Canwest Global. I wouldn't get too fixated one Canwest.

The Asper wealth is not only tied to Canwest .. They wholely own Creswin, which is a sizable and growning real estate company, as well run an organization of asset management and other investments.

It's a shame, I really liked that design from the outside. It screamed 'big league' in its appearance. Lets just hope the New Bomber Stadium gets built, and soon.

Stadium broken into, Blue's plane vandalized

By SUN MEDIA

Talk about being kicked while you're down.

Insult was added to injury following the Winnipeg Blue Bombers' season-ending loss to the visiting Hamilton Tiger-Cats when someone broke into Canad Inns Stadium early Wednesday.

The incident was reported just before 4 a.m.

A small plane, which belongs to the CFL club and is dear to diehard Bombers fans, was vandalized.

Known as the "touchdown plane", it rips through the end zone every time a Bombers player scores a touchdown at the Maroons Road stadium.

Damage is estimated at $5,000, police said.

No arrests

No one has been arrested, police said. The investigation continues.

No one from the Winnipeg Football Club returned a call yesterday seeking comment.

Last Sunday's home loss eliminated the Bombers from playoff contention.
