Westbank should hire whoever did their stairs.

Thanks!

Agreed, well done.

The raised seating prevents anyone from who's blind from walking down the planters, although,
there's a 1-2 foot gap next to the seating in the second pic
where a blind person could squeeze through and end up tumbling down the seating below.

I assume there are tree wells at the curb on Georgia?
Otherwise, those 2 trees in the first plic are the only trees on the Georgia frontage.

PS - I wonder if the absence of Amazon signage means they are looking to sublease?

I wouldn't read too much into the lack of signage, they don't have any signage at 401 Dunsmuir either and they occupy 100% of that building too.

They just cut about 40k of space in 745 Thurlow, so I would expect any of their cuts to be in non-core buildings and that they keep their campus (401 and the Post) intact.

Amazon seems to take a light touch when it comes to signage everywhere. I recently checked out the Spheres and surrounding district in Seattle, and it's hard to find an Amazon sign there too.

Thanks for the info.
I was also wondering why 401 Dunsmuir didn't have a sign.

So, are there no tree wells along the curb of the Georgia Street sidewalk?

All the renderings and plans had trees.

Only guess would be that there's future work on that section of sidewalk and they'll be installed later on. That asphalt on the two corners suggests it's not finished?

The asphalt along the curb will probably be torn up and pavers installed right to the curb with tree wells.

Okay, I went back today to get some pics of the sidewalk.
I'm glad I got the other pics before they put the blue fencing back up again.

The first two pics are looking north on Homer showing the trees planted there.

Yeah those sidewalks look finished when compared to the other streets with trees planted. Maybe they have the boxes for the trees setup and they'll just cut them out at some point. They will line up with those dark gray lines of sidewalk.

That's really strange they didn't plant them. There could be steam pipies under there, but there are trees on the next block up at 401 West Georgia.

This post shows all those tree planter boxes being installed on those side streets.

There was that huge void below the stairs, it never seemed like any utilities were connected through that side of the building. The spray paint suggests like something might happen down the line.

Maybe Georgia will be widened by a foot or so in the future. In the background, the curb at 401 looks set back further, and there's a lamppost base set back really far from the curb.

Probably utilities in the way, the trees there before were set back on the other side of the sidewalk.

I like it without the trees. It’ll proved more sun on the steps and patio areas. With trees there it would cast huge shadows
