I believe OEB has a coming soon sign up in the former HSBC space in Tower 1. They had a note on their website at one time that they were opening in spring 2024, but i do not see that anymore.

They’re hosting an open house today. It’s done at 7, but you can get a peek at the space and renderings on their Facebook/Instagram stories.

I think a pawn shop or payday loan place would suit that area.

There was a Money Mart in that strip mall for many years.

It is the second location of a Weyburn restaurant called Leicester. It has a menu similar to Canadian Brewhouse where the owner was once the chef. Leicester FC is is fav team.

After yesterday's gas line fire/explosion, Luiggis is being demolished today. Building can not be salvaged according to their crackbook page. Restaurant was up for sale previous to this.

Up for sale + CEBA (covid) loans due next week + gas explosion = me suspecting insurance fraud, and I can't be the only one.

There are much easier ways to burn down a restaurant. Also there were people still in it! Finally, the restaurant did not own the building.

Having said that, there are going to be a lot of local restaurants that can't pay back CEBA.

I tried Liberty Kitchen. I was quite pleased. Excellent, fast service, great food and cocktails. The vibe and decor are nice with a huge 4-season patio. I would say mostly Gen Y, Z patrons with a sprinkling of older folks and only one family that I noticed. It should do well. It is a highly visible location next to Kal Tire - former Mr. Greek.

I think this is the first time I have seen Millennials referred to as Gen Y since 1999!
