The first one looks like rotting leaves or fur.

The others look a lot more corporate (clean lines, etc.) but do look a bit ungainly. If the top deck railing on the bottom cube were in glass, it would reduce the apparent bulk of the wood.

Wow, downtown is filling up like crazy (and it is nice that this year many of the sites are office towers). I love how the small hotel was retained in this project. Having tiny buildings wedged directly against large modern ones creates a far more interesting urban fabric than an entire block being completely cleared IMO. This is why I also love the Credit Suisse and MNP projects.

Bottom picture: nifty panorama with Metrotown on the horizon!
Question: just what is that little cube-shaped building bottom-left, kitty-corner to TELUS? I know it's infill, probably with a decent shelf-life remaining, but it seems so itty-bitty, and out of place.
Anyone have any info on that? Thanks.

I'm sure one day it will be redeveloped, but not soon. Not so much due to it being impossible now but more that there are much more easily redevelopable sites in the immediate area which will happen before it.

The site is sandwiched between two of the largest redevelopments the core is likely to see in the near future, being the Bay Parkade and the Old Post Office

That small building also has Holy Rosary Cathedral to the north, so there's no chance of enlarging the site with adjacent sites.
