That's the building across the street from the post office. I thought I had heard they were converting it to apartments.

^^^You could be right. There's so many smaller hotels planned/under construction/being converted that I have no hope of keeping up with them all.

The name of the building is the Gibbs Building.

There fixing it up, don't know what it will be.

Embassy Suites is coming along quick, there digging quick, and the rebars are already being put in place, the crane shouldn't be to far behind.

If Piazza San Lorenzo could ever get going, we could see a pretty large concentration of cranes within a few square blocks.

Saw this building at 1000 N. Alamo was demolished over the weekend.
found this image on Cross & Co website,loopnet.com

Did a little a research and found this. I guess it is better than an empty lot, it had been sitting there gutted for a few months.

I can't get the pdf to show up. Is the new development going to be taller than 2-stories?

nope - redevelopment is only 2 stories....

looks like the original building will be "prettied up" with some exterior touches.

I like the design of that redevelopment property...nice looking short buildings aren't so bad...think of the International Center on the Riverwalk

The river north plan had a relatively large building going there. Oh well.... it's better than nothing.

It definitely looks better than what's there now, but still very suburban in character.
