This is correct. The parking is for AGL Resources and the other tenants in 10 Peachtree Place. My understanding with 33 is that they are phasing construction so that some parking can remain while the site is under construction (i.e. build the parking deck and then the rest).

10th Street Hole in the Ground might finally be filled with this:

Quote:
The long-standing giant hole on 10th Street near Piedmont Avenue finally looks as if it will be filled.

On Tuesday night, representatives from Atlantic Realty Partners, Inc., gave members of NPU-E a glimpse of its proposed mixed-use project that would contain 494 residential units in three separate buildings. The yet-to-be-named project would stretch along portions of Piedmont, as well as 10th and 11th streets.

Here's a larger view. It looks like it could be another nice project for Midtown. I noticed that land along 11th had been assembled and mentioned it in a post about a year ago. I think its a great location.

I just read an old article on Onyx. It looks like they kept the same basic plan for the 10th street part of the project. Onyx was to be 16-stories also with 157 condos.

^^ I just copied it off of the Midtown Alliance website but you are correct it should be NW. Maybe we'll get some more renderings of 98 14th street after the meeting on Tuesday.

Some tidbits from the Business Chronicle.
  • Amli is planning a 375-unit project at Lindbergh called Amli at Piedmont Heights
  • Amli is ready to go with all of their intown projects including the 15th street tower as soon as they complete the permitting process.
  • 280 Elizabeth will be named "Inman Quarters"

Ick. My front yard can be Inman Nickels. Boy, that thing is getting huge! Saw the drawings along the way but the reality is really something. They are moving fast, too

7th Midtown

I noticed some preliminary signs of life walking out of the Starbucks today where the future 7th Midtown building will go. A tree-removal sign, similar to what went was posted on the 33 Peachtree Place site, has been posted.

Unless you resize the image, it will display in the same resolution that the picture was taken.

RE Seventh: I also heard that Starbucks was moving soon. Both are clear signs that Midtown's first new condo building in several years is moving forward.

Interesting, I'll ask when they are going to move next time I'm there (i.e. tomorrow).

Fuqua about to break ground on Morningside project

Quote:
A new natural foods grocer is coming to the Morningside neighborhood.

Fuqua Development is about to break ground on a mixed-use project at Piedmont Avenue and Cheshire Bridge Road. The anchor tenant will be Sprouts Farmers Market, sources say.

Dallas-based Mill Creek Residential is co-developing the site, which now houses the Rock Springs shopping center. It’s set to begin delivering units around third-quarter 2015.

I wonder if they're planning to build all three towers at once or phase them in?

In my opinion these are the best looking new towers since 3344 Peachtree.
