I don't think we as a society will have a choice. You're already seeing system strains in many areas as the bill for infrastructure comes due. You can't continually kick the can down the road. Even in this announced move, Mercedes mentions quality infrastructure, an educated workforce, low taxes, and a "hip" city as reasons for the move however, we're already seeing issues on how to pay to maintain, and expand, this infrastructure as well as funding education. Taxes won't remain low forever. We relied on a ponzi-scheme-like growth scheme for so long, eventually the area will mature and taxes will have to go up, or education, infrastructure, etc. will go down to the toilet.
