I agree that it's one of the better projects going right now. Price is more about the location than finishes and design, and I'm not sure what it is people are looking for in that regard anyway. How it ages will be dictated mostly by how well it's maintained, and that will probably be pretty well since Inman Park shows no signs of becoming undesirable.
I think some people are just destined to be unhappy about anything that doesn't "wow" them, which will be a lot since most things are average by definition. At the end of the day this is an apartment project in an inner suburb that the vast majority of non-residents will never see. Every piece of infill in the entire metro doesn't need to be a candidate for the world stage. Even the so-called "world-class" cities can't pull that off.
It looks respectable and will bring more density and retail into a neighborhood served by transit. Job well done if you ask me.
