That's one of my favorites too. If any of you ever want a jaw-dropping view of Atlanta, there is a mountain called Sweat Mountain in East Cobb. You can drive up to the cul de sac on a Highborne Dr Marietta, Ga. It's probably one the most spectacular views of Atlanta. You can see everything from Kennesaw Mountain, to Downtown/Midtown/Buckhead, to Stone Mountain. You and your friends will be impressed!!!

If you want a more direct route, the Streetcar actually connects with the Peachtree Center stop, one stop north of 5 Points. Take the Ellis St. Exit on the platform of Peachtree Center and then Exit the side that isn't the Atlanta Public Library and you'll exit right onto a Streetcar platform.

it would probably be quicker to walk honestly. unless you timed it perfectly to where the street car arrived right when you got off the train. But if you picked up some groceries at the Sweet Auburn it would definitely be beneficial having the street car to take back home!

Want to tag along this post since I got photos of this impressive project...one of the best apartment projects in the last 5 years or so. These are photos from different angles. This is mainly for people who have not been to the neighborhood in a while. I took these with my DSLR and post-processed them so they're pretty high quality photos.

Inman Quarter from Highland Avenue

The inner area of Inman Quarter(Retail, parking garage and park entrance is here

Inman Quarter with the rest of the neighborhood.

Inman Quarter from the intersection of Elizabeth and Highland

Inman Quarter from the intersection of Elizabeth and Euclid

From Euclid

From the tiny park/public space in the middle of all of the development

The back of the apartment complex

Also a small update on the apartment project near Krog market.

I think the most impressive thing about Inman Quarter is it's layout and how it seamlessly blends in with the surrounding area. That being said, it looks cheap for the prices they're charging. The development seems to lack character and high-end finishes. It already looks dated and it hasn't even opened yet. I know it's too early to make a final call be these are just some of my initial thoughts.

I agree. This building looks like crap due to all of the EIFS. It will age terribly.

There is no EIFS on this building at all, hardy panel, brick, metal panels (that look like wood) and storefront-- I actually think its one of the better designed projects going up now-- Do some folks equate simple contemporary design with cheap?-- that is certainly not the case, though its not an expensive building, in materials or detailing-wise, it is well proportioned and urbane--
This project is so much better that whats across N. Highland--

I absolutely agree. Eye of the beholder and all that, but not sure how it "already looks dated" considering this is a bit trendier design than current design trends (at least in multifamily). I do like how along highland they're a bit more aggressive with the design (metal panels) and facing the SFH neighborhood, they go with a brick look that fits into the neighborhood better. All in all, great addition.

Yes, there is. See the picture taken from the back of the building. And you believe that is hard-coat stucco?

I agree that it's one of the better projects going right now. Price is more about the location than finishes and design, and I'm not sure what it is people are looking for in that regard anyway. How it ages will be dictated mostly by how well it's maintained, and that will probably be pretty well since Inman Park shows no signs of becoming undesirable.

I think some people are just destined to be unhappy about anything that doesn't "wow" them, which will be a lot since most things are average by definition. At the end of the day this is an apartment project in an inner suburb that the vast majority of non-residents will never see. Every piece of infill in the entire metro doesn't need to be a candidate for the world stage. Even the so-called "world-class" cities can't pull that off.

It looks respectable and will bring more density and retail into a neighborhood served by transit. Job well done if you ask me.

Do you know whether this go all the way to the corner of Peachtree? I thought I read somewhere that they were reserving the corner for a restaurant.
