I hope it doesn't go under. they are one of few places with half-decent coffee in this part of Ontario.

I remember going to the one in Downtown London back in the early 2000s. They had a sign on the wall with a long list of rules, and boy, they did enforce them - it was almost like the Soup Nazi stand on Seinfeld. They actually did enforce the 45 minute seating limit. I went back there in 2017, the rules sign was gone and it seemed a lot more relaxed.
Just that store, as far as I know. I honestly never paid attention to whether the one downtown is still open or not. I can't think of any other location in town now. I know they had a shortlived one in a newbuild in front of Northland Mall, which is now a Chucks Roadhouse. I see that the Wonderland store still shows as open when I search on google. Maybe it was just a renovation that was going on.

The one at Northland mall lacked paying customers for food. People would sit in that William's all day long, nursing a basic coffee and reading the newspaper.

Well the house brand ham and turkey luncheon meat I sometimes buy at the grocery store is better than whatever Tims is using.

They actually sell their canned soup now at supermarkets. I mean, come on people. You are paying for heat and serve canned soup. The food at Rim's is revolting.

Speaking of national cuisine, I recall seeing this cheese 'powder' at Costco a few times. Honestly, who would buy this stuff

Doesn't the cheese 'powder' come with KD anyway.?

I ate Tim Horton's doughnuts so much as a kid, I loved them so much, now they are almost inedible. I'm hardly a connoisseur but still the difference was noticeable. Maybe once in a while I get some hazelnut doughnuts from Costco which are okay. I also live near Krispy Kreme and Country Style which are good but not as convenient.

I also miss the Chinese/Vietnamese bakery in the Chinese plaza in Mississauga. Still some Chinese bakeries left, but no Vietnamese, other than banh mi places. No more Vietnamese style steamed pork buns.

It makes me appreciate the baked in-store items at Costco more. Even the buns baked there that have no extra preservatives (e.g. L-Cysteine aka human hair), just natural, like the ones at the Portuguese bakery my mom use to buy from (La Novita, in Cooksville). All those buns and sliced bread from regular grocery stores just not the same.

I think when people think about going out to eat or buy food, maybe they should pay extra attention to the bakeries. Even Tim Horton's can't be bothered to bake doughnuts in their stores anymore. If you don't support them, how many bakeries will be left in your neighbhourhood in the future? How much can you bake at home to make up for their loss?

Tim's donuts used to be great (back before they were made a factory).
Now they hardly sell any donuts, even of the inedible variety.

Tim Hortons soup is contracted out to Campbell's - is their soup still made in Canada? (Possibly made by places like YaYa Foods - an Etobicoke co-packer.) I tried applying for a job at RBI - they wanted to know if I'm an ethnic minority or not straight - does autism count?

The sad thing is, when some people come to visit Canada, they associate Canadian cuisine with Tim Hortons, every bit as much as I associate Mexico with street tacos.

It’s not something for us to be proud of.

So disappointing. Firehouse Subs has been my go to for "fast-food" for a while now
