God that video was annoying. Could have been done much better.

The Pita Jungle is set to be opened by Nov. 25th at 3rd Ave and Roosevelt. I've never been to a Pita Jungle but have heard a lot of good reviews, this will probably be my first visit.

I love it. Cheap, clean, healthy, and great service. Plus they brew a locally made Iced Tea called Passport and it's delicious.

Pita Jungle is great, plus they seem to have a 'hot waitresses only' policy, so thats a plus.

Wasn't there something else going into the Goldspot too? I cant imagine PJ taking up the entire thing....

I've never seen a Pita Jungle girl that meets that description, they're always typical girl next door cuties when I've gone. Now Carly's on the other hand...

I've been waited on by one at the Mesa location, and one at the Tempe location. I kinda dug it with the dreads and all... kind of an I'm intrigued to try it once kind of thing, but I'd rather they have more of the cuties I see.

Recall Drive Launched Against Phoenix Vice Mayor
Updated: Thursday, 11 Nov 2010, 3:38 PM MST
Published : Thursday, 11 Nov 2010, 3:38 PM MST

PHOENIX - A recall drive has been launched against Phoenix Vice Mayor Michael Nowakowski.

Recall organizer Dick Gayer says Nowakowski favors wealthy whites over the middle class in his council District 7, which includes central, south and southwest Phoenix.

Gayer is also upset with Nowakowski's support of a project to reduce traffic speed in the Willo Historic District near downtown Phoenix.

He claims it's unnecessary and will drive property values down.

Gayer must collect more than 2,000 valid signatures to trigger a recall election.

Quote:
"If Nowakowski isn't on your side, you're screwed," said Gayer, who opposes the traffic-mitigation project that would extend curbs near Edgemont and Third avenues to slow neighborhood cut-through traffic and include landscaping to beautify the area.

Gayer said the project will reduce property values and is unnecessary since the area already has traffic circles and speed humps.

so wait, this guy thinks decreasing traffic and speeds along with cut through traffic is going to hurt his property values?

Jesus H Christ Willo people are idiots. My brother used to live there and he said the things they would come up with were so confusing.

Please don't assume that Dick Gayer has anything to do with the rest of us. He is a bitter old man who gets his kicks by suing people. The traffic mitigation stuff is supported by most people here but he has been throwing up roadblocks for years.

wait really? Dick Gayer? That's a name? Wow.

Back to the dog park thing real quick, I don't understand why you all are in favor of converting park space into dog park space. That just seems silly. I mean, we have all of these dirt lots that aren't being used but you think that cutting into public park space is the best option? And John, as far as all of those apartments between McDowell & Indian School, they can use the dog park at Steel Indian Park or the one at Washington Park. The issue is that there isn't one further south.

We have an urban dog park here in Belltown. It's only 0.3 acres but it is great for the community and is always being used. http://www.seattle.gov/parks/park_detail.asp?ID=336

I just don't see why, with all of the empty land, we can't have something like this in Phoenix.

Enough about CityScape and the restaurants going in there... another new restaurant, Viet Kitchen, is going in downtown - in the space formerly occupied by the Acapulco Mexican restaurant (which apparently really sucked), next to Z Pizza. Hopefully they have some good pho at the Viet Kitchen, if so, I'll be there.

Very good news -- especially the detail that it's under the same ownership as Viet Kitchen at Cave Creek & the 101 in far north Phoenix.

I eat Vietnamese 3-5 times a week so this is very happy news for me. I generally order bun or com but ocassionally bahn mi or pho strike my fancy. I just hope this is a full restaurant and not just a pho shop, which is the americans only portal into vietnamese mostly. Cmon whiteys, be adventureous.

Since we have been talking about Mexican food lately and it is getting close to the holidays, are there any recommendations for some homemade tamales? Look to buy a few bags to stick in the fridge.
