^ there is always room for more quality Indian food. I don't care where it goes.

Fair enough. Like I said, it's not for me, so my opinion doesn't count.
That being said, I don't see this as the type of restaurant a family would go to before the game.
Seems more like it would be a restaurant that people simply go to, with no connection to the game. You'd think they'd put something in there that they could get some business from the baseball games.

That being said, maybe I'm wrong, maybe families would go there.

Why? My children started eating tasty food as soon as they got off the bottle.

Just because it is associated with baseball doesn't mean it has to be tasteless. Nothing is more yummy than Indian food!

their samosa appetizer is a meal in itself. great, family-run, Winnipeg-based addition to downtown.

I remember when Clay Oven was new. Their prices were low and portions were bigger.

Something to keep in mind with the Clay Oven at Shaw Park is that they are doing a different style of dishes that struck me as a fusion between Indian and tradational Chinese food. I cannot recall the name for this style though. Sounds like they would also have all the common Indian dishes as well.

In the Mobile Take-Out Restaurant category....Habanero Sombrero among other new arrivals...Pulled Pork anyone?

Newbies roll out: More food trucks to crowd Broadway with a new level of take-away

At least three new hopefuls are rolling out this year, adding to a fleet of close to 20 that didn't really get rolling until 2011.

I'm about 3 blocks away and it's better than Mc D's or Tims.

The Grove to take over Papa George's spot in Osborne Village

By David Larkins ,Winnipeg Sun
Thursday, May 30, 2013 12:50 PM CDT | Updated: Thursday, May 30, 2013 12:54 PM

The Grove Pub and Restaurant is spreading its wings and, in the process, filling the void left by an iconic Osborne Street eatery.

An employee at The Grove told the Winnipeg Sun Thursday a press conference would be held at 3 p.m. at the location of the former Papa George’s, on the corner of Osborne Street and River Avenue.

I'm surprised it is a local joint that is getting the space. I think it will fit the location nicely, as it will not commercialize the corner the prominent corner the same way a chain would. The more I think about this, the more positive I feel about it. Really good news, as far as I'm concerned.

Any one running the guantlet of new restaurants or chain franchises been to a Mr Mikes?
I can't even keep track of this stuff any more in Winnipeg.. Is it a worthwhile location to say take your partner on a night out? (As long as thier not a vegan?)

Mr. Mikes SteakhouseCasual coming to Winnipeg after all

A Vancouver-based steakhouse restaurant chain has announced plans to expand to Winnipeg next year.

Officials with Mr. Mikes SteakhouseCasual confirmed the chain is scouting the city for a location to open a restaurant in the city next year as part of plans to expand throughout Western Canada. The mid-range casual dining chain, which is owned by RAMMP Hospitality Brands, already has locations in 19 cities.

I'm originally from Vancouver. Not much to see here.
This will be an *PERFECT* replacement for those two Kelsey's that just closed

In all fairness, Mr. Mikes is probably better than Kelseys. Everyone I've mentioned their closure to does not care one iota.

I am eager to see Brown's Socialhouse come to town, and Rockford Grill (if they ever start building it).
