Looks like Optima McDowell Mountain passed City Council on Monday barely in a contentious 4-3 vote. They have DRB and Scottsdale Airport approval as well.
Trying to figure out the final heights though, it was published before it went to council that it was (3) 9-story and (3) 10-story with rooftop pool decks and height up to 133' and 1,390 total units.
Article from Biz Journal states that they made changes prior to vote and the project is now (6) 8-story buildings up to 118' each and a total of 1,330 units. That is only a drop of 15' and 60 units yet they are technically losing nine total floors across the entire project? The math doesn't seem to add up. I am wondering if they just dropped the (3) 10-story buildings down to 9 and we are getting (6) 9-story buildings? That would make sense with a loss of 60 units, approximately 20 units per floor, and only 15' in total height. Does anyone have concrete info on final height/floor counts?
