I mentioned recently they were doing soil testing and drilling on the site. This went up today.

Is that the site for the proposed 250' residential tower?

I don't believe so, it's not a project I discovered.

Assuming you mean the signs generally, Phoenix passed an ordinance requiring a 30 day waiting period and notice for demolition of any building over 50 years old during the fallout from the Stewart building controversy.

I actually like the building, it's a cool mid century style but I assume the inside is just ruined. I would like to see the padded room before they demo it.

ARE YOU SUGGESTING!! That the owner caused a fire to use insurance money to clear the rubble and thus sell the land and develop the apartments?

I say, you are too bold sir...

I think more along the lines of removing any possibility he could be denied a demo permit...

Not many people are stupid enough to try to pull off insurance fraud.

I will defend insurance fraud if it means replacing that blighted warehouse with a nice apartment building

Yes, arson, murder, extortion are all valid tactics as so few of these multifamily look-alike stucco shit boxes with overpriced rents are being built on every other available lot.

Building permits have been issued for the condos at 8th st and Roosevelt. 8th and ROW is the name on the permit. They have been slowly working on them the past year. Underground is all in. Curbs are being poured. Asphalt next? Should start building soon.

Watt Community is building them. http://www.wattcommunities.com/8th-and-row/

They are doing other projects in town, hopefully these are more urban looking.

Nice to see for sale units vs rentals.

They have had a sign up for a very long time, perhaps four years? A commercial agent I've worked with had a listing with them for the land and it was being marketed for sale until about a year ago.

Interesting to me to see the mindset of "we'd like to sell this land but will develop it eventually if we don't get our number".
