I believe that the city has agreed to review the permits for land disturbance while the property dispute is resolved.

Castleberry gets its mojo back

With recovery, Falcons stadium, once trendy area is poised for rebound, Castleberry Hill, with its creative converted spaces and nationally recognized art scene, is also welcoming a wave of new development.

Today, more than $80 million worth of projects, including a new hotel and loft apartments, are in the works for Castleberry Hill, a small neighborhood bounded by I-20 to the south, Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to the north, Spring Street to the east and Northside Drive to the west. It's the most investment the historic community — a former industrial area that this year was named one of the 10 best art districts in the nation by USA Today — has seen since construction came to a halt during the recession.

In fact, more than $250 million worth of new construction could come to Castleberry over the next few years, said Jerome Russell, president of H.J. Russell & Co., a major landowner and developer in Castleberry. "It's not quite ready ... but it's coming probably in about three years."

Wonder what the story is on that Gables tower on Maple? Sounds like the area around the village is filling in quite a bit.

Centennial Olympic Park looks to expand to boost convention business.

A rendering of what Centennial Olympic Park would look like if the Metro Atlanta Chamber building is removed.

According to an exclusive AQJC story,The Georgia World Congress Center Authority is considering buying and demolishing the Metro Atlanta Chamber building adjacent to the park and use the 1-acre site to create more space for concerts and similar events.
State officials say they don’t envision the park competing with traditional venues such as Philips Arena or area amphitheaters. But the authority stands to get hundreds of thousands in additional revenue it can use to bolster convention recruitment and amenities. It also helps to boost the city’s destination appeal, which is on an upswing with new attractions such as the College Football Hall of Fame, the Center for Civil and Human Rights and the SkyView Atlanta Ferris wheel. The authority’s move toward Centennial concerts is part of a long-term master plan to pump new energy into its campus and Atlanta’s convention and tourism business in general.

Those steps include construction of a $1.4 billion retractable-roof stadium to replace the Georgia Dome and a possible new 800- to 1,200-room hotel. The Olympic rings water feature — one of the park’s biggest draws — and its winding reflecting pool would also get upgrades.

Integral's website is currently undergoing revision - said to be up around new years. No doubt in early 2015 they expose some really slick marketing for 811. Looking forward to that.

this is excellent! the park honestly needs some redesigning, the portion south of andrew young international is excellent, but it has terrible street interactivity.

the northern part of the park only works when there is a concert; the rest of the time it just feels like an empty amphitheatre. it is too "programmed" and the brick streets criss-crossing the park only compound the problem. there needs to be more natural areas of the park with shade trees.

Bottle Bar and Bistro is moving into Ludacris's old restaurant on 5th and Juniper.

http://buckheadbottlebarandbistro.com/

The website already shows the new address, but I don't think it actually open yet there. I assume they will drop the Buckhead portion of the name

Looks like the permit is only for foundations and the parking deck- a logical first phase of construction or somehow effected by the property dispute(?)

These are study concepts-- there wont be a real rendering until a developer is selected--

On Centergy North, the last occupiable floor has been poured and the crown is underway. I'm guessing it will top out before Christmas.

Surely not a product of the dispute... those would represent the entire footprint.

Do permits usually come in phases like that? I thought developers just got one for their entire project.
