Went by 8'th & Seneca this morning and noticed that the apartment building on the NE corner (the site of the proposed 8'th & Seneca building) appeared to be vacant. Something that looked like a construction site door was at the entrance. I wonder if they're getting ready to demolish it.
I hope so. That's a very cool project. It even has a new entrance to Freeway Park. Tying that park into the surrounding neighborhoods will help it become what it should be.
Near 9th & Seneca and not far from 7th & Seneca. Look at google maps.
I don't know when they rendered a new rendering, but I've seen it recently, and it's a nice-looking building. Maybe 25 stories along with a skinny lower portion.
The white/grayish colored building is vacant (I'm guessing at least a year or two) and is partially boarded up at the botton 2 or 3 floors. The other one is the one with the construction site door at the entrance.
I believe the white building had a fire. Also, I walked by these buildings on Sunday and their status was about the same. We can hope they're really starting demo, and that demo is related to a real project start.
Looks like 5'th & Yesler could be starting very soon. The fenced off area has been enlargened (the park/walkway at the top of the hill is now closed) and there are 2 earthmovers on the site.
