2615 East 6th

Quote:
Located in the rapidly developing East Side of Austin. This 200 unit apartment building aligns with the broad curve of the CapMetro commuter rail line.

The design uses the natural slope of the site to minimize the height of a 2 story parking podium, supporting 5 stories of wood frame construction if a “U” shape residential plan that shelters a generous amenity deck. Two story live-work townhomes front the base of the parking podium along the primary street frontage.

Definitely a parking fail - especially with so much parking space to choose from.

For the love of god can a developer please add a high-rise or two to the East Side. All the current shit being built is so boring.

They can't because the City won't let them. It's not any developer's choice or fault.

Lirica

The office portion behind this, The Electic, is not under construction.

The design commission in this city is an abject failure. Are we just letting developers throw up anything they want?

It's affordable housing. The priority is to make it financially viable.

For what it's worth, I don't think the roof is finished yet. I beleive they're installing an array of solar panels that will span the whole "shed" span of the roof and create a shaded area up there. At least that's what I remember from seeing the original design sketches/renderings

Unless that got VE'd

At least the folks in Tyndall get a blank white wall and not...a blank beige wall or something terrible like that to look at. Sure beats having the sunset, which just puts a glare on the TV if we're all honest. I mean, think of how much they'll save on their utilities with this shade structure during the afternoon sun.

If it weren’t for I-35 being reconstructed I’d rather have the sunset and skyline than a blank wall. Raises property value and the right blinds are an easy fix.

Here’s a close up of the La Vista De Lopez:

A developer is seeking a rezoning of 20 Strandtman Cove (adjacent but separate to the Borden Dairy tract) from industrial to mixed use. Plan is for 945 multifamily units in a 10-11 story building with a max height of 120ft.
