Interesting to see the progress meter. They've got a long way to go and it's going to be quite the beast on that corner.

It's already feeling big and it's not even near halfway topped out.

I'm fortunate to have an office window at nearby Dows Lake Court, directly across from the Icon.

I noticed that at floor 10 the height of the storey seems to be less than the lower floors? Or am I just seeing things?!

Expect the crane to be lifted very soon -- the next milestone to look for!

Wow 30% and it's already looking monstrous. Finally the start to heights coming to Ottawa.

The first floor is for retail/commercial and the next few floors above that is for office space.

A big thanks to everyone posting photos. As a future owner of one of the units - that lives many time zones away - you do a great job of chronicling the build! Much appreciated.

Italian week trouble at Icon

I was concentrating on getting the floorplate and I only saw the cars reviewing the photos.

Any guesses when we could expect to see some cladding? I'm anxious to see if the quality of the materials will make or break the look of this building.

Welcome to the forum. I have to warn you in advance that you that the cladding will more likely be 'break' that 'make' judging by Claridge's long history of bait & switch cladding and usage of cheap materials in every project.

I already signed the purchase agreement and mailed the deposits (before the most recent price increase) ... and besides, the view will be beautiful from inside.

this building will be a beast when done - just happy to have something tall in this city!

Your photos were taken the day after the Preston Street Ferrari Display, a part of the Italian week festivities. I imagine that they were assembled for that event.

Or Otto's has secured Ottawa's first Ferrari dealership (but I've heard no rumours of that).

Great photo, thanks for sharing! Every week it's getting more and more prominent as I drive west on the Queensway.

I can see this beast rising from my balcony every day. I think it's about 1/3 of the way up, climbing about one floor per week, so I outlined a super approximate guess as to just how high this building should get. At this rate there's a chance it could top out by the end of the year, but I would expect it to slow down as winter approaches. The building may turn out to be an ugly abomination, but the height is pretty exciting to see.
