Dundurn Market is evidently open today, at Dundurn and Aberdeen.

So, some inside scoops on the stretch of King between Queen and Bay.

The owner of Lo Presti's at Maxwell is opening a wine bar/restaurant thing right next to Ark + Anchor at 298 King W. It has terrible looking leopard print seats so do not expect the classiest joint. Don't know the name yet.

Chuck's Burger Bar has a lease for 276 King W. Apparently they've had the space for awhile already but after peeking in it doesn't look like there's much happening inside. Maybe after the whole drama last year on Locke St and loss of the King William spot to The Mule they're in rough shape so temper expectations.

Not crazy about leopard print decor but if they could get an array of decent bar/resto tenants filling out the Queen-Hess strip at the same time it might float all boats.

Ideally, I'd like to see the single-storey buildings replaced with two-storey infill to reconstitute the street wall, but that's kind of pie-in-the-sky.

I think they're crazy over-hyped/rated but Burger's Priest is coming to Hamilton. Will be somewhere on Upper James.

Today as I was driving down Upper James I noticed that the old Burger King is soon to to be The Works. Checked out their website to see when it is opening but it just says, opening soon.

What? Upper James? BP must be downtown!

Not to be, according to their tweet on May 30: "Job fair on now for our new Hamilton location. Apply in person today until 5pm 1389 Upper James St"

Yeah, I didn't know the numbers went up that far yet. Is that an airport location maybe? (Kidding.)

From their web site: "Where are we? We are located in select areas across the GTA with the hopes of one day reaching the ends of the earth."

As far as I'm concerned, they've made it!

Yeah, I'd rather continue going to the one that I go to in Toronto than make the trek up the mountain. They aren't really that special anyway.

1389 Upper James is the address for the old Burger King, but someone had said there was a sign for The Works opening there. If it is actually Burger Priest going there, then maybe the sign for The Works was at the site of the old Licks, which was nearby at 1441 Upper James.

For those who have embraced the Burger Priest mythos, they will also be opening another location at Toronto's Union Station in the near future.

The Works sign is on the old Burger King location and in the old Licks there is a middle eastern restaurant.

It says on The Works website that the new Upper James location will be at 1405 Upper James. There are no other buildings between where the old Burger King is and the old Licks.

There's a Wimpy's Diner going in at Fennel and Upper Gage, a couple of stores down from the liquor store.

Drove by today. The Works is going in the old Burger King location.
Burger's Priest is in the new plaza NE corner of Rymal and Upper James where Nethercott Chev used to be.

State and Main is also going in the new plaza

Noticed some signs on the old Mex-I-Can windows.

Says they're opening 2 new locations, one in Hess Village and one on James Street. Seemed super thrown together and very unspecific so we'll see what pans out.
