Sorry, my bad.
You do realize that 10,000 square feet only amounts to one 100 by 100 foot room. But regardless, it is good to see that this thing is finally starting to show some progress.

They're towers, aren't they?

Note the red X-shaped base for the crane on the left. It appears to have risen a little bit! Or am I just seeing things?

i think he;s talking about the raised structure around the back right of the frame. that is actually the roof of the path train tracks that run through the footprint of the tower. thats been there since the beginning and is not a new structure

I think that was part of the old WTC garage that was under the Twins, wasn't it?

The bottom level was left there to cover the PATH track that goes back to New Jersey.

Yes, that was what I was referring to. I don't know why I never really noticed them before, but went back and looked at the archive pictures, and you are correct, they are not new. Just supports for the roof of the train tracks I guess. Sorry 'bout that.

Kind of eerie to see a photo of new wreckage at the site again...

What will they do with the stairway? Is that going to be demolished as well?

Carlos, can you also post a pic of the newer temporary entrance as well?

Goldman Sacs seems to be coming along smoothly.

Daquan, the "new" new entrance is plain....no canopy, no marquee, no nothing...just simple stairs going down.....and yes those old stairs going down to the Path are history.....that's where WTC 2 will rise!!

They should have at least put something up to protect people during
inclemment weather.

That is just ridiculous, but hopefully, the NEW PATH entrance will be built soon.

Why did they knock down the temporary one already? Are they gonna build the real one very soon?

My pet theory: they were afraid if they kept it around much longer, the preservationists would start demanding that it be kept as "a reminder of the dark days following the World Trade Center attacks."

That might seem silly - but look at all the BS about those damned ruined stairs...

^ Don't tease people too much on these forums; they believe everything they read.

That said, you're right about the extremes some of these groups go . . . but to answer the question, you should have added: YES, the temp station had to go so that work can commence on this portion of the Calatrava designed train station.

There's quite a bit of foundation progress being made around the FT in the last few days.
