I don't know how it would be feasible to have 2-way Streetcar traffic on single tracks. I know the current route single tracks for a very brief section in the middle, so I guess they just take turns crossing that part.
Incorrect. The middle portion in Woodruff Park has 2 parallel tracks with a switch track between them. Plans for the next phase of expansion include the East and West Beltline connecting to the existing streetcar and a crosstown streetcar, most likely on North Ave, but possibly on 10th, with 2 parallel tracks. The only place I've seen plans for a possible single track is the transition from the East Beltline onto North Ave, where the route crosses the trail. I imagine they would just take turns as you've suggested.

Single tracking is not unusual - very common on short runs or limited runs -- the same car(s) just shuttle back and forth

The idea is that if you are returning on the same line, you need to walk over a block or two to the parallel return line. Problem in Atlanta is that most streets are too narrow for two lines.

On the news, what the reporters quoted that Liberty Plaza could be ready by the End of This year...Isn't this exciting!?!?! This is another win for Downtown and for the State Capital!

Anybody know what's under construction at 3150 Stillhouse Ln SE (Vinings)? It's behind the new Bell Vinings apartments. I googled but can't find anything.

It's a townhome community by Traton Homes.

In a city where everything shuts down, I don't care for snow. There is nothing to do here.

Just about all of the bars and restaurants in Midtown/Downtown were open last time. They were all packed too.

Ummm. No they weren't. I didn't venture downtown. But pretty much everything around here....from 10th and Piedmont, Joe's, Henry's, Steele, STK, etc. were closed.

I didn't venture that far north in Midtown but Cypress, Vortex, Churchills, Publik, and a few others were open on the south side of Midtown and most of the touristy restaurants downtown (hard rock, meehans, etc) were open downtown.

In fairlie poplar, landmark diner and some others were open. The owners closed Side Bar but kept Park Bar open.

Most of these places were so packed that you could not get a seat.

Business was probably better for them during the snowstorm.

Excited for this. I've peaked inside a few times of the months and the downstairs at street level and the main room look fantastic.

HAUS bar to open at historic Castle in Midtown

If you’ve been wondering what’s happening to The Castle, the historic home overlooking the Woodruff Arts Center at the corner of Peachtree and 15th streets in Midtown, well an answer is coming tonight, Nov. 12.

It’s the first of four nights of “soft openings” for HAUS – a living room bar and music emporium. HAUS will be open from 5 p.m. to midnight tonight and Thursday, 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Friday and 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday. Valet parking will be available or paid parking in the Promenade II deck on 15th Street.

The menu will consist of small plates, including shrimp and grits, braised pork shoulder, carbonara flatbread, muffaletta charcuterie, broiled oysters, roasted chicken salad, veggie antipasto and a selection of desserts.

Details about the future of the house – also known as Fort Peace and once deemed a “hunk of junk” by former Mayor Andrew Young – have not been very forthcoming. A message on the Castle Atlanta Facebook page states: “The Castle will be opening a seasonal bar in The Grotto and for very special holiday events on the Club Level as we ramp up to our full opening early in 2015. We aspire to attract the most interesting people in Atlanta to its most interesting venue.”

Skyhouse Buckhead Parking Garage

Driving by the Skyhouse Buckhead parking garage this morning I noticed they were installing what appears to be alternating purple and green metal/mesh decorative cladding to the parking garage facing 400. You can see it in the screengrab below from the webcam. Don't recall seeing this finish in any of the renderings - not that parking garages are the focus of too many renderings.
