Man, It should would be awesome if the building was designed to have that gradient in the first picture, instead of it being the clouds.

Nice update. So it looks like it has ~5 more floors to go. It doesn't stand out in the skyline quite as much as I thought it would. Maybe that ~140' spire will help. But it does an excellent job of blocking the Hilton coming into Downtown from the south.

Yea it's a relatively subtle impact. It doesn't draw your eye like the JW. I wish they would tear down that senior home east of 35. It's in our view of downtown and looks like butt.

I like the curved glass on the bottom part, kind of wish it would have been curved like that everywhere.

With only 5 floors to go, it does look a little underwhelming, and I'm not sure a 145' spire will change that, but if I stop thinking about the first rendering and face the fact that we might not have gotten this at all, this is going to be a very nice add to the skyline. I like the building to the north, its kind of welcome to Texasish. Still wish we could have gotten that 50 floor count in that spot.

Driving south on the I-35 upper deck, this stands out since it appears left of the highway. Of course this is an illusion since the highway soon turns left, but nevertheless there is an impact of widened skyline. I'll try to snap a pic when I'm not driving.

You might want to try viewing this page in Google Chrome (if not already). Someone mentioned that they were unable to see the photos in the Safari browser. You'll like the angles I took them at!

Those photos are not normal image files. It appears Google has created a way for photos hosted by a Google site to only be viewable in Chrome. At this point I'm calling it a dick move by Google.

Yeah, I can't view them on my computer in the MS image viewer without opening them in Google, which means you couldn't do it without internet access. I also couldn't open them with a photo editing program to change the file type. Very sneaky, Google.

I hate Chrome. All hail, the Snipping Tool. These are Mopacs photos, obviously.

Another big plus for the Fairmonts presence on the eastern edge of the downtown skyline, it minimizes the view of the hideous Hilton that has stuck out like like a sore thumb when approaching the downtown skyline from I-35 south for almost 15 years.
