I have noticed your disappointment in recent weeks. Do not leave ssc. Your input is very much appreciated and you have made the forum what it is now.

Indeed, speculation grows about how many of London's tower proposals will actually get built. Some other proposals are likely to be abandonned or postponed again.

However, I suspect you are slightly over-reacting. The Shard London Bridge is
now a dead cert. Crossharbour also has been confirmed again yesterday in the business review of the developer. And as you know, the Jumeirah Tower at Blackfriars is due to open in 2011 (contracts have been exchanged with Beetham). I am also confident about 122 Leadenhall starting in Q1 2007 as planned by BL.

There are more uncertainties reg. Heron, Bishopsgate, Riverside South, North Quay, etc. Indeed, some will never go ahead or postponed to the next decade.

But that's the way it is.

It should be built by 2011/2012. For more information, see the official website:

Fantastic rendering... thanks for posting London Lad.

Kinda unrelated, but here's a London Banner I made... its called 'Zooming In London' (because it shows our landmarks close up). I'll submit it when all this stop-start business is sorted out:

This was the last one I made if anyone remembers it:

Very nice. Both of them. I would suggest that you zoom in even more on St. Paul's and perhaps move slightly down on the Picadilly Circus advertisments.

I've lost over 10,000 posts on SSC, but I'm actually quite glad!

My post count was starting to get ridiculously high.

I don't know what is going on with ssc but it is down again. I am getting really pissed off.

In the news today:

- Demolition is about to start at 22 Marsh Wall - Canary Wharf. Gregory Demolition has been awarded the contract.

- Shell appoints Foster to draw up South Bank multi-million sq ft tower plans

Demolition works at 22 Marsh Wall were anticipated to begin on 25th September.

So I presumed they have now started?

Im still not happy with the 288m Bishopsgate Tower height that tower doesn't look right and needs to be a little taller this is a mistake they are going to regret when finished and why bother recladding the exchange tower that towers better of being demolish. They also need to do something to the ugly bridges over the Thames this does not look good for London with the olympics coming up.

Galliard Homes have started marketing their Vision 20 tower. Construction should be starting soon.
