That empty lot next to it has been there for several years now. Any updates on that?

It's owned by ASPAC. Given they just returned deposits for their latest phase of River Green I wouldn't expect to see any movement here any time soon.

On paper it's joined owned with Carnival International Development in Hong Kong, but that may not mean anything.

The rezoning was for 2 condo towers, in 2019, and it's never made it to public hearing. There's no realistic expectation of the original project being viable any time soon, even if it was revived (and they paid White Spot $245m for the site).

It seems like Carnival got delisted/liquidated in 2023 so they no longer exist.

So with this spot, the undeveloped land on False Creek, and 601 Beach that's at least 3 places the city lets go undeveloped indefinitely. I'm sure there are others.
