There is a daycare (I think) right at the end of rue Seto that is for sale. 5.2 million. The house there is supposed to be demolished.

Isn't the other one a Chawarma?

First time I have seen it spelled that way.

Though it works either way, with C or an S. At least in French.

It makes it distinct. First one I've seen with 'Ch' too.

There is now a Pizza Hut in Destination V.
I suppose that technically, that is a restaurant.

I think Pizza Hut is almost more of a sit-down restaurant now, not a place to pick-up and leave like Pizza Pizza (I believe that's what Pizza Hut was back in the 80s and 90s). It's between Pizza Pizza and Boston Pizza in terms of experience.

I am actually seeing the opposite evolution for Pizza Hut.

The one near my place (Maloney and Gréber) used to be a sit-down place, which they closed and instead they have brand-new pick-up and delivery location almost right next door.

I guess I haven't been to a Pizza Hut in a while.

This one is most definitely a takeout/delivery location as it is occupying just a small corner of one of the smaller buildings on site.
Given the traffic mess of that site, I'd not count on timely delivery if you live anywhere but the Plateau sector.

It's a strange choice given that another Pizza Hut (takeout as well) location just opened in Galeries d'Aylmer within the past year or so.

Same on Bank south of walkey. Closed the sit down, open takeout/delivery across the street.

That switch happened years ago in Bells Corners. The large, sit-down restaurant, with its distinctive roof, was closed and a small take-out location opened down the street. Business at the take-out seems about the same as before, but the overhead of the seating area is removed. I expect that franchise owners can get a better return with this configuration.

Yeah, the one in Galeries was definately a surprise when it opened, it is the size of a shoebox. No sitting down, just a counter.

Pizza Hut is extremely greasy, I find. Haven't been to the one at the Vanier location.

I am curious to see what other commerces are coming across from the Korean Pogo place (I went there with my son a couple of weeks ago. Their dogs are pretty good but I wouldn't recommend trying to eat one in your car.. very messy )

It still has the same decor as a Pizza Hut from the 80's, with the depressed, lopsided shitty booth seats and green carpet. Food is good, though.

I remember them having some sort of affiliation with the Sens back in the day (and by 'back in the day' a couple of years ago), not sure if I go to the place on Ch. Aylmer and demand some kind of deal they will honour it.

They still do. They have the "Ottawa senators Pizza", $1 of each sale goes tot he Sens Foundation. They have gameday deals and such.

Gabriel's is almost a religion in the eastern outskirts of Ottawa (Orleans and environs).
