Building Beyond Boundaries in Midtown Manhattan

At 989 6th Avenue, a slender 72-story skyscraper is rising in the heart of Manhattan’s Garment District. Standing 789 ft. tall, this mixed-use marvel will offer 300 condominium units and 86,817 sq. ft. of commercial space, topped with a wraparound landscaped terrace.

Challenges Overcome:

Tight urban footprint with less than 12 inches of clearance on two sides.
Limited street access and no permanent crane—only mobile cranes for material lifts. An aggressive three-day-per-floor cycle time to meet deadlines.

Doka’s Solution:

From lightweight Frami systems for single-sided pours to Xclimb 60 for the core and exterior shear walls, our innovative formwork and protection screens ensure efficient, safe progress. Loading platforms further streamline material handling for this complex project.

On track for completion in 2026, 989 6th Avenue will redefine Midtown’s skyline with its precision engineering and sleek design.

Wait, isn't this thing like 15 stories out of the ground?

Look closely, and you can see the crane. In a couple of months, this tower will be more noticeable on the cityscape...

What the hell.

This might be the fastest project I've ever seen. Is this the same PM that built the Empire State Building in 11 months?

I mean, with a Doner Kebab accessability score that high, those condos have to be flying off the shelves...

Saw this one in person last week from the 34th and 6th. The glass in person has a very subtle brownish tint to it. I figured it was just due to the light reflecting in the photos, but it carries through in person.
