Architecture tours will have to start at this corner with this and 1500 Georgia! This area is really reeling in great proposals. Bravo Vancouver!!

Yeah, great designs for sure and this will be our city's new highlight, but if only they can also build them as proposed...

Agree no height reductions! Also Vancouver needs to move things from Proposal through DP to BP in a more efficient way.

Came across some really stunning renders on Designboom:

Not sure if these were posted before but thought I'd share the article for the interview anyway

An awesome departure from the norm! please please please build it as rendered!!!

As a furniture guy I'm curious how those kitchen cabinets are constructed, the doors look like steamed and pressed maple or birch plywood, I guess with the computer programs available today they can just program the machines to make the individual kitchen cabinet plans and it will just fire them out automatically IKEA style.

Approved by Council on Oct 20th. Lots of behind the scenes stuff to do with the city i'm sure but it can start sales and move forward at any time.

The project is seeking DP approval: http://development.vancouver.ca/1568alberni/index.htm

Public input is closed end of January, so maybe final permit approval in the spring?

You can tell a bunch of the commentators don't know much about the design.

Really enjoyed the part about it being a fire hazard to have balconies furnished in wood.

Also, Kengo Kuma is designing the popup space at the Fairmont Pacific next month:
