Cool. Demo was approved earlier this week. This one should be a go.

It's funny, we're going to have about 5 buildings all within 20 feet in height of each other going up at the same time. 91 Red River (369 feet), 48 East (358 feet), 405 Colorado (356 feet), 5th & Brazos (355 feet), and Alexan Capitol (350 feet).

Can anyone verify if demo/site prep is underway?

Good to know. I wonder why the developer hasn't made any announcement? He was been pretty forthcoming in the past in getting the ABJ and others to write a piece about construction starting.

I got a *very* quick glimpse of the site from I-35 this morning. It looked like some demo was happening on the south end of the site. Maybe somebody in that area can verify it?

FAA cases were filed this week for a crane (374') and the tower (349'). I don't know how accurrate this is, but the filings list the work schedule as 03/01/2019 to 03/01/2020.

Not this one. Financing seems to have always been the problem. They filed all their building permits including finish outs last year, so they have been planning to start as soon as they can. Their building permits expire in July, so they should be starting relatively soon.

OK. But we've been hearing that for quite a while. But the demo has given me hope.

Good stuff. I’m ready for that area to start filling in a bit.

Only kinda related: I’m waiting for the Towers of Town Lake to sell off their parking garage (south side of Lambie, between East and I-35). Lots of underused prime space.

I think it's between this project and The Avenue as to which big project breaks ground next. (The Demo didn't count.) 2019 is turning out to be a great year for the Austin skyline.

This could be the reason why this hasn't started yet. As of today they are still trying to update the approved site plan for the change in use from multi-family to hotel/motel. The latest attempt was denied again. But it just seems to be an Admin issue and nothing serious.

I think that one (Hanover Republic Square) along with 44 East and 6xG are all candidates to start soon as well since they all have their density bonuses and are just waiting for site plan approvals.
