We have been blessed here in Cowtown this year. So many exciting projects on the go, but those three (Telus Sky, Manulife and Brookfield) are all exciting.

Yeah, I just wouldn't call the tower of BP a masterpiece though. It is very nice, with the curved, tapered corners, but it's still mostly a box. What is most exciting about Brookfield Place is the Galleria they will be building between the towers, along with the public square between Tower I and The Bay.

I know this building isn't tall by Calgary standards, but I still think it will be gorgeous. Only regret is that it's in such a densely built part of downtown that it will be barely visible from most angles. Put this thing in Eau Claire and it would stand out like the jewel that it is.

I think it will be more visible then people think. It will be taller than the courthouse which is quite visible from the south and even reasonable visible from the north.

Is it taller than the courthouse though? I thought the courthouse was around 430'?

The Courts Centre is 129 meters, this is 124 meters. However, being right on a park, it will still be very noticeable.

I was just thinking the same thing. In the rendering it looks taller than the Courthouse, but that's the south side of the courthouse which is shorter. From the park the view will be beautiful.

Looks like they are already getting things started on the West end of the property so that once the Mawer building is down they can go full bore.

How deep is the parkade? That will take a while to demolish.
