Thanks for the updates Corvairkeith, the situation with ZaZa looks like there still waiting for everything to be approved by the city, if I had to guess. I'll see what info I can find out about the delay sometime next week.

They should not be waiting for any more city approvals. The site plan was approved in July, and the only other permit filings since then are for finish outs which would not be holding up the project at this step.

Unless financing fell through in which I hope it hasn't. But seeing there's a small construction trailer on site still gives me hope that it will start soon.

Has anyone noticed if the crane went up as scheduled this weekend? It's possible that the weather may have delayed it.

This one seems to be one of the fastest-moving projects in Austin right now. It may not be impressive architecturally but it's infill projects like this that feel like they're changing Austin the most.
