3 excavators per project.

They appear to be two different excavation companies. I wonder if they are ever tempted to nudge some dirt onto the other site when the other guys aren't looking...

Ya I was commenting on that on the other project's thread. I was wondering why they wouldn't do a joint excav then build up separate. i'm sure they had their reasons, but it seems easier to me both logistically and financially.

Roughly same angle almost six weeks later. Charleson excavation in the background bottomed out?

Looking north, Charleson excavation in foreground.

Hmh, I hadn't realize that there will be only large condos in this tower?

Yes, it's marketed primarily at empty nesters it seems. Every unit also comes with a private 2 car garage if i recall correctly.

Funny you should mention that. There is some retired guy who is somehow an expert in everything who now owns in my building tries to dominate strata meetings... I literally roll my eyes every time he speaks.

Not the only one on the block. The Grace Residence seen in the picture directly across Drake Street is 71 suites on 32 levels.

Where do they transport all the truckloads of gravel these excavations produce? Do they use it in some other construction elsewhere?

I was the presentation centre last week. Apparently of the 117 units orginally designed, it is now down to 91 with assemblies for larger units. Someone has bought the whole smaller upper deck on the lowrise for their private use, the larger one is still common property. You can imagine the demographic of those were onsite purchasing.

Its till material so its very fine grained and sensitive to moisture and not very reusable unless its summer and you can cap it with something else. It usually goes to Delta to a dumpsite or gets dumped in the Ocean via barge.

One would imagine the amount of soild dug from all Downtown projects amounting to a small mountain but yet there is nothing visible in the Delta skyline? Where in ocean do they dump it? Perhaps they could have started to built a landconnection between Vancouver Island and mainland by now.
