amazing, pulled pork sandwiches are so good, especially on a brisk autumn day.

Seems like the street food scene is gaining momentum. The city has been getting applications from existing hot dog vendors to convert their carts:

Saturday's Vancouver Sun had a feature on the new street food vendors, and mentioned a blog that covers them.
Vancouver Street Eats

The photos and summaries were helpful to me. I've only tried the Reup BBQ so far, and while I've seen some others I have never stopped to find out what their food was like. For whatever reason I've been quicker to duck into one of the new rice bowl or burrito storefronts.

I'm definitely going to go out of my way and try a few in the next month. Does anyone have good experiences to share?

yes eventually but the whole process was stupid they should have looked at who was wanting to open what we could have had something great down there - a lot of cart owners actually researched the areas they wanted and didn't even get picked and almost all of them just role their eyes - if you read scene blogs/info when they heard about the lemonade stand

Indeed. There's one crepe store here in the metro I particularly like to go to but I've heard of a lot of others.

Well, consider that you had a 5% chance of winning the lottery. What person is going to invest a bunch of time and money in a great idea only to have a 5% chance of being able to operate?

The whole thing was a mess.

yeah when they announced it though there were people who wanted it for years and had business plans and ideas and everything ready to go than it was opened to the wide public and a lot of the ready ones who knew what they were doing got screwed over in the lottery way of choosing - but seems like its coming together and i am sure the bad ones will fall to the side

Of the new street food I've tried Re-Up BBQ, Fresh Local Wild, and Poke'm

I've been to each of those twice, was happy with them and would recommend. Does anyone have questions about taste, portion, or service? I'll give honest answers if it helps anyone get off the fence

I haven't really been paying attention to new street food here. I'm curious hearing from fellow SSPers who do check out these street venders how popular they are. Are these new street venders well received by the public with lots of demand ? I want to check one out when I have time in downtown in the future.

given the fact that the program was a late start and most were not up till early fall, its been very promising, summer will allow the vendors to show their fare. there has been some inconsistency with some vendors not showing up etc but I imagine such vendors wont last, as is to be expected,

the city seem to really want the program to work and despite some issues with the implementation of the program, I think its looking very promising,

arturos and re up bbq are always busy and seem to be getting plenty of passing trade. i have yet to fresh and wild but too looks busy
