Is that by any chance Haney Place, beside the rec centre? I recall being there often as a child, but haven't been back in a while.

It is, but that entire area has changed dramatically, and is still changing. Almost the entire North Parking lot behind Haney Place has been transformed into a proper bus depot. Also under town hall, the ACT theater, the grassy area shown and the leisure center is underground parking. This is an area Maple Ridge has done a great job developing. When i was there today i was actually surprised how many people were walking around downtown, going to all the small side street shops. Although Maple Ridge does have its big box stores it always amazes me how the old town core is still alive and relatively busy. Today i only saw one store without a tenant.

Thanks for the comments guys!

The 2 faces of the hotel that have windows were completely resurfaced with new(?) windows and that metal facade. The lighter and darker gray parts you see are the stucco faces that was retained, although that was also repaired and painted. They had those sketchy-looking jack cranes that push a platform up the steel poles on the side of the building for a long time last year.

Yes, they were all resurfaced with new material..not painted.

A few random pics all taken by me.

From the roof of the tallest building in Maple Ridge.

You can just make out the Golden Ears bridge in this shot.

The mighty Fraser.

From Surrey looking down river towards the Alex Fraser bridge.

Looking out towards New West.

A break bulk ship at the docks.

The New West skyline with Burnaby in the background.

Anyone remember the anarchy of last winter

The last three are right around City Hall. The first three are of the new International Friendship Garden (jeez.. what a name) which is on the other side of Clearbrook Library off George Ferguson Way.
