Thanks for the pic, Officedweller. Based on this most recent pic it appears they're working on the 19th storey above the podium. The podium appears to be about 5 storeys (on the alley side - looks like 5.5-6 on the Barclay St. side) by looking at the historic facade. That means it should be about 23 storeys tall, as they're currently working on the 24th storey (based on the alley side of the podium).
Pretty much looks the same - just floors being added up top - no new glass beng added to the lower floors on the east side - there is some more on the north side, but not really noticeable from my perspective.
Pic by me today - August 31, 2009:
5 floors of glass are up on the east side
(final height may be just below where the crane boom is -
One Wall is 48 storeys and Patina is 42 storeys, but One Wall is farther uphill).
I had not realised there were so many trees planted atop Electric Avenue (the Scotiabank Theatre building). I have always liked that building and I hope we see more like it in NEFC. I think a large, muscular building with a multiplex, restuarants and shops at grade and apartments and gardens on top should front onto one side of the proposed civic plaza. It woudl really fit the bill for what is envisioned for that area and act as a major destination to help pull people down to that part of the city.
