I did this for the MMF a long time ago. I always liked it.

I recall before Portage Place there was a proposal to close Portage to traffic and build a roof over the street basically between Eaton's and The Bay.

There are definitely different renders of Canada Life Centre and more renders for the Hydro HQ.

Also pretty sure there were alternate concepts for a new Bomber stadium at locations other than U of M. Along those same lines there were concept renders for The Elms (old stadium site) before Asper walked from that plan.

vike's MMF proposal reminds me of the AMC Governance House that was floated in the 2000s for the urban reserve site near Polo Park.

For some reason the CBC story only has this super low-res image... I remember seeing a lot of this project back in the day.

There were a few iterations of the Asper Bomber stadium. It started out at Polo Park, then went to Point Douglas, then the U of M. Not sure if there were any other stops along the way.

There was a competing proposal from CanadInns... theirs went from Polo Park to Assiniboia Downs to Canada Packers.

Anyway, here is one of the early Asper proposals:

Early version of the U of M stadium:

Looks like it was originally contemplated as a single-tier stadium

I was under the impression that the Polo Park residential development is still pending?

Probably best that we avoided the fates of Brockway, Ogdenville, and North Haverbrook

Pretty sure CF and Shindico aren't sitting on this now that they've got clearance for redevelopment. That's an awful lot of surface parking that sits empty most of the time.

They had a concept of the new arena across from the Convention Centre on the front of the Sports section of the WFP in the spring of 1991 titled "Paradise on a Parking Lot."

The plan to build the "Manitoba Gardens" arena was put forth, after the city conducted a year long feasibility study that rejected two other submission, one by the Bombers to attach a new arena to the East Grandstand of the old stadium (closing off Empress in the process), and enclose it in glass, like the Assiniboia Downs. The other submission was to build a Multiplex Stadium at the Forks, that would house the Jets and Bombers.

The plan unfortunately never came to fruition, even after the province struck a deal with owner Barry Shankerow, covering the Jets losses from 1991-95, on the condition they remain in Winnipeg, and not to entertain offers outside of Winnipeg.

The complete Douglas Cardinal proposal for the Thunderbird House campus...would have been amazing.

MMF plan to redevelop their Henry St building...they are now moving to P&M so this is clearly not happening - too bad.

The "Jane" - Portage and Sherbrook.

It is really too bad that it is so cumbersome to post images on here...I have tons of renderings, but it is such a time consuming process to post.
