Yes. As well as many other designs from them.

You're right. After I posted that I looked at the other projects featured on their website and that is a definitely a signature design.

It's possible that Duda Paine is the design architect and Page/ is the local architect of record, although the title block does not include any reference to Duda Paine.

I never even thought to look at the company, but I thought that looked very much like the planned Dallas building. Makes sense now.

The gate for the existing parking garage was down at lunch yesterday. That was the first time I had ever seen it closed. Though open now, who knows. But that garage does seem mostly empty now. So they may have moved out now and that would be good for this new building to get going soon.

You mean a gate to the parking lot? There's no parking garage on the site. Maybe you mean Block 71?

Yeah I meant that, you know when both lots have a little building staying cutting out a corner you get confused. I was meaning the former UT site. Thanks

As ATX pointed out I posted this in the wrong thread, it was meant for this former UT site: "The gate for the existing parking garage was down at lunch yesterday. So they may have moved out now and that would be good for this new building to get going soon."

Discussion of the Claudia Taylor Johnson building will take place at Monday's (09/25) Historic Landmark Commission. And these are from the backup files:

This will have great street level presence. Nice interaction going on with the UT structure.

Wow, I love the sharp angles and the contrast. The lobby looks very clean and I like how it's integrated into the older structure (looks like there might be access from one to the other). So where exactly where the residential portion go. There's some green space.. is it projected to go there. If so, maybe Phase II is much later. Like Urbannizer said, I think it interacts nicely with the systems headquarters. Not surprising considering the architect for both projects is Page, and Larry Speck is very insightful about that sort of thing.

Here's a zoomed in view of street level. Those columns really help tie the office tower to the CTJ building. But now I'm really perplexed about the residential tower plans. It was originally going to be where CTJ is and incorporate the facade into the tower. But I didn't see any mention of it in the backup files, and so much effort is going into preserving CTJ. I would think that someone on the Historic Landmark Commission would ask about it at Monday's meeting.

Yeah, that is odd. This project should have been stacked if they wanted mixed use. The CTJ Building and the park plus the office tower are a nice combo. I wish they had made it taller and combined the two uses into one tower.

I wonder if the residential portion of this is farther off than we were originally led to believe ...

I would be very happy if this is the final version of this. Replace the lost park space with open space behind CJT.... plus a cool plaza to connect to the building.
That all reads as great urban texture that keeps one of our few historical building of that style and era PLUS keeps a pocket park. !
Plus plus....

Me too. I also want to see Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex from up there. But I think its too far.

The demo and CTJ plans were approved 10-0, not surprisingly. But there was no discussion about the residential tower. The plans are for the CTJ to be a public space with access from the relocated park/plaza. At this point I don't think they are planning a second tower. I edited the thread title to reflect a single tower.
