My sentiments exactly ! ! (and that includes the majority of these designs. They are modern enough, but not esthetically pleasing. Most of them have a "grotesque" quality infused in them)

And they stick out like sore thumbs. In a place like Vancouver, any building that attempts to compete with the natural beauty is bound to fail. This might work in the desert, but not here.

i can already hear the people who will not state that your statement is another example of how lazy vancouverite are with architecture and how we have yet again rested on the laurels of our natural beauty.

Probably, but what's wrong with that? I'd argue that trying to compete with the gifts mother nature gave this region would be exceptionally arrogant.
