I think they were talking about the twin towers in NYC and it’s vertical ribbing?

Tmoney,
These aren't working. When you download a photo to Imgur or any other image site, copy the image address, and then have a post open on the forum you want to post to. Then click on the yellow square icon. It's the one with the sun and mountains in it. Then paste the image address in it, and enter. There you go! Not so hard.

Yes. WTC in NYC. Although, everything you said, Orlando is true also. I worked for Ernst & Young as the Marketing Associate for many years in the former Eagle Gate Tower and often reflected on how it mimicked the COB.

I guess ive always been a huge fan of the COB Modernism design. I love it (other than the north facade). But ive always loved the original WTC'S as well.

Here's a pretty great drone vide from October. Shows a lot of great downtown angles and progress of quite a few under construction sites

Sorry for the confusion. Yes, I was talking about the WTC in NYC.
The WTC in SLC (Eagle Gate) definitely looks like a mini-COB too, albeit much prettier.

Impressed with the Post District

Wow, loving these pictures. I can't wait to see these developments in person when i visit the in-laws this Christmas.

It's impressive to me to see what the Post District has been able to do in what seems like record time when Station Center and Fleet Block have been stalled for years -- and with the same type of re-development plans (short to mid-rise mixed use and refurbishing old buildings). This local government trying to promote all their pet projects and not wanting to offend certain politically connected interest groups hasn't helped.

Totally agree. I drove by today because I was surprised how far along it looked in the pics. Definitely one of the most exciting projects we have on the horizon billboards and UDOT aside.

I don't know if anyone has any info... but I'm really hoping they get a bar or two in there. The website mentions retail and restaurants so I guess we'll see

Hyatt-Regency Hotel

Does anyone on this forum know if the Hyatt-Regency Hotel has actually topped out?

By my calculations there should be 1 or 2 more floors, especially on the south end of the tower because I know the south end of the tower is taller than the
north end.

Also, does anyone know what is going on with the Convexity site. There has been absolutely no activity at the site for the last week or two. I'm wondering if it might be supply chain issues?

I mean, they had a ceremony regarding it and it was in the papers, so one would assume that if not then it’d be pretty close.

I meant to post these pics a couple weeks ago but forgot. I apologize if these have already been posted. I don't recall seeing them.

Those "outdoor recreation pods" are enough to make me never want to commit a felony

Wanted to bring this podcast to your attention, the Demolished Salt Lake Podcast. It's relatively new, with a dozen full episodes and several mini episodes. It's all about the history of Salt Lake City's built environment and how it's being preserved or not preserved, etc.

https://www.facebook.com/demolishedsaltlakepodcast/
https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas...e/id1547099331

The most recent mini episode was about the La France Apartments (the ones being torn down for the Greek Orthodox Church development). There's a lot of good history in here, they're not anti-development, but they are respecting some of what's been lost.

Some favorite episodes:

Utah's Carnegie Libraries
Utah's Territorial Insane Asylum
Utah Territorial Penitentiary (the Sugar House Prison) gets a two-parter

Anyway. Figured if anyone out there was the audience for this, it's us.

No clearer example of function first architecture than this citadel to the prison industrial complex. Chilling.
