I think we're all curious wanting to know if that apartment on McDermott was demolished.

It's supposed to be demolished by the end of today.

Here is what I know for downtown:

Some Railside buildings are in for development permit. It's happening this year.

10 Storey building in the Exchange.

10 Storey Building in the Exchange. (we've seen this one)

12 Storey building.

14 Storey building.

12 Storey building.

McLaren Hotel Addition - 10-12 Storeys?

This does not include the resumption of the True North Hotel, which is now one slightly taller tower....or the 9 Storey building on Portage East....or the completion of the 14 Storey tower at Donald/St. Mary.

I can see building from my office earlier today and no equipment around.

Ah cool. Thanks. I hope it goes.

Add Portage place tower and the Bay to the list. That’s a lot of new housing downtown.

I walked by this morning (Tuesday) on my way to work. There are no signs that demolition has begun.

Permits are complete and I believe that tendering has started on the major trades. Should be a go.

Are there any updated renderings now that the addition has been changed to 7 stories?

good news. That area is the next great frontier. The Nutty Club buildings and the parking lots offer great opportunity. Once Railside is developed, and the rapid transit station is in, it will be a high demand area.

One of the Railside developers I spoke with is looking to start in Oct. Another is hopeful late in 2024. Two others are more likely to start in the new year.

I know of one starting late winter/early spring. If I was a developer, I'd want to get in there first....i might be a sh*t show with everyone going at the same time.

I've walked through the 3d computer model with all the designs. It looks pretty cool actually.

Is that a publically shareable model or is it private?

It's up to whomever paid for it if they want to release anything publicly. The Forks have released numerous renders of the project. I doubt they'd ever actually give out the 3D model, but rather release videos or renders.

Is Structube relocating or is it an addition to the building for someone else? I would jokingly suggest perhaps another Dollarama but the level of truth there hurts a little.
