You don't actually need to make an account to use imgur. Just go to www.imgur.com and click "new post" in the top left, then upload your images. Give your "post" a title and then right click on each image and copy the direct image link. You can add an "h" before the file extension to automatically resize large images to "huge", which seems to be a pretty good size for this forum.

I’m with Stenar on this one. In fact I love it. Though I do expect the ground floor to have little to no real street engagement like almost every other building in the area. But if they can get that right I’m 100% on board.

Haha! Right on, I suppose 500-600 footers will be the next 'one-note goal' we downtown development geeks will be looking forward to. As long as it doesn't prevent us from enjoying the current infill boom.

I agree, it is an uninspiring generic design we’ve seen many times before. I won’t complain about the 10 stories and added density/residential units though. That part is always welcomed given the ongoing housing crisis. Hopefully they add some street engagement and ground retail given that’s a street corner

Have anyone other than myself ever noticed the similarity of the COB vertical cladding to the original WTC? While the COB predates them by appx 10 years and is stone instead of metal, the lines of windows and cladding are strikingly similar. I was going to post comparison pictures but alas, too complicated.

I think it looks good. You may be just reacting to the rendering. It's got a very clean look to it but also a lot of glass. It's also showing a lot of ground floor storefront. Once they add signage, etc for the ground floor retail, it should give it more life.

Also, 10 years ago, it seemed like all new projects were of the 4 story variety. Then 5 years ago, more 6-7 story proposals pop up. Now it seems that 10 stories is trending

Well, yes, I am reacting to the rendering. It looks terrible, and boring, and outdated. That's just my opinion.

I also hate the look of the COB. I always have. I even hate it's location. Looking at it from the East or West, it feels lopsided in the city, like it should either be half the height, or it should be moved 4 blocks south. But the cladding is what I really don't like. Now, if they want to convert it to something like this (below)........

I don't mind the COB, I just wish the entire north side had the vertical cladding. I think it brings interest to the city having towers that represent different eras. Once we get a few 500'-600' towers it will look more natural in the skyline.
