I also like the guy who complains that we don't have a 3,000-foot tower in Philly.

Is the Drexel guy saying that they borrowed a Comcast design/rendering meant for Center City as "filler" in their UC renderings?

The crane operator sketicism Only surpassed by a guy with 3 posts hearing rumors of an 1800 ' Verizon Tower and another 1000' + tower by Comcast.

What you all are failing to realize is "Macedonia is Greek" really holds a high-level position at Verizon and has graciously come to this forum to release a piece of ground-breaking news.

ToBox shoe boutique moving to new Center City space

The reason this is significant is there is a developer trying to build a highrise hotel here.

An unspecified developer partnering with Parkway Corp who owns the parking lot behind these buildings on 19th Street. The developer is currently listed as South 19th Street LP.

Would this be indicative that the deal is not happening then? The article notes that ToBox is supposed to move in by the end of August. Would they really sign a new lease with someone just to kick them out shortly after to build a hotel?

Sorry for any confusion, but ToBox is moving from their current digs on 19th Street to the old spot of Duke & Winston at 1822 Chestnut Street.

The site of the possible highrise hotel is at the corner of 19th and Ludlow Streets. The site includes 3 rowhome buildings which house dry cleaners, ToBox (which is moving) and a nail salon on their respective ground floors, a 4th rowhome which has been demolished and is now an empty lot, a drive-isle, and a parking lot behind the properties.

Man, that sucks. I get my hair cut at All About Hair and you could bring your shoes and they'd call over and get someone to fetch them and shine them for you. Was a very nice service. Probably will not happen anymore.

As far as I'm aware, Verizon has lessened their presence in Logan 3 in recent years. I actually worked as a contractor for them back in the mid-2000's in that building.
My guess is that it's nonsense but if it did happen you'd expect it to be their FIOS cable/internet division so that they could directly compete for and possibly poach talent from Comcast.
