According to the CBC article I’ve read, he’s likely going to be $1M lighter; he bet $500k on the NBA finals too.

A rounding error for sure.

In any event, it's do or die time for the Oilers. This is a must win situation.

Go Oilers!!!

That was brutal. Edmonton is about the only Canadian team in the Western Conference I'd actually cheer for. I guess I'd cheer for the Flames too, but not to the same extent... I don't exactly want Calgary to get a second cup before Winnipeg gets their first. But Edmonton getting their 6th isn't going to make Winnipeg look that much worse.

If The Toronto Maple Leafs can come back from 0-3 in the Stanley Cup Finals, and 3 other teams have done it in earlier rounds, it's at least somewhat probably that McJesus and the Oilers can pull of a historic comeback and win one for Canada.

The Panthers just won 3 in a row, now Edmonton has to win 4. It's at least not as hard as in basketball, (no team has ever done it). Pray for the luckiest of bounces, and trust in skinner.

Why do Canadian teams constantly choke in the Playoffs and/or the Finals?

^ It's become a Canadian tradition!

The team that does break the curse will have a special place in Canadian hockey history, that's for sure.

I figured Florida would win, but sheesh. I thought at least 5 games.

In other news. It's...the Utah Hockey Club. The NHL is really trying to win over fans.

With a big UTAH on a 45 degree slant in what looks to be ALL-CAPS Helvetica. Really going all out on that design budget there.

Hope the product on the ice isn't as dull as the design.

The cynic in me is now thinking cash grab to get collectors to buy the original uninspired option as well.

I wonder what the betting odds are right now on the Panthers winning. Would be an easy way to turn $500k into $510k, which is a really nice return for a few days and zero work. (Thanks Drake for the idea!)

Worth noting that “Utah Hockey Club” is not permanent - it will be the temporary branding until the naming poll results are over and they can develop a logo/branding over the upcoming season. Main colours right now are powder blue, black, and white. I suspect they will add purple into the mix once the real branding is finalized to be consistent with the Utah Jazz rebrand to purple.

Does anyone talk about the curse of the Bambino or Billy Goat anymore? Once the curse is broken, it's quickly left in the past.

Not really, it has been a combo of Nurse and Ceci. Skinner has stolen some games for them these playoffs whereas those two have done the opposite. Sure, Skinner hasn't played well in a few games, including last night, but some of that is also due to the defensemen in front of him.

Skinner needs to make a key stop each game, but his D has been leaving him out to dry.
