The JLB site indicates it will have 290 units and be opening in May 2016.

Here's a list from Midtown Alliance with small renderings, unit counts, retail SF, etc. for many recently proposed and under construction projects; it does not have the very most recent proposed ones however:

Great looking, great infill..

Planner named for Doraville GM plant redevelopment

The Integral Group, which last month closed on the purchase of the plant near the Perimeter and I-85 in northern DeKalb County, hired Perkins Eastman to design the “look and feel” of the project. The Integral team has said they plan to create and urban node that’s walkable and connected to transit. The project is likely to have a mix of offices, residences, retail, hotels and green space.

Perkins Eastman’s design experience includes Battery Park City in New York and Target Field station, a mixed-use transit hub near the Minnesota Twins’ home in Minneapolis.

Wow and to think I managed going to college and living in an oversized closet with another person on campus. I wonder how the rents will be.

baaah this is gonna be great. huge potential. will be interesting to see how they connect this to the MARTA station. i hope it is soemthing more substantial than just a skinny pedestrian bridge across the rail lines.. im thinking like a plaza built over the train lines or something integrated with some green space on the west side of the tracks. the GM site is HUGE! i think at least twice the size of Atlantic Station. could be one of the best TODs in Atlanta if done right

NCR was looking at that parking lot for a potential consolidation of offices in the metro atl area as a HQ campus earlier this year. They were seeking GA Tech funds to buy the property

Linton Hopkins is going "plant-to-plate" at the Atlanta Botanical Garden

The Atlanta Botanical Garden is hooking up with James Beard award winning, Buckhead based chef, Linton Hopkins to create a dynamic new dining experience in Midtown as part of its multi million dollar expansion plans.

According to media reports, the new restaurant is part of an extensive expansion project planned through 2017 for the Garden. It will seat more than 200, include a patio and rooftop deck, and offer views of the woodland garden and the Midtown skyline. "We wanted to create a new model for Atlanta in which the dining experience would match the Garden's beautiful displays and visitor experience," Atlanta Botanical Garden president and CEO Mary Pat Matheson said. "We can grow many of the vegetables and herbs in our Edible Garden that are used in dishes served in the restaurant, showcasing the plants used to create remarkable culinary experiences."

I also think this is going to be great. I'm a skyscraper lover but from a development point of view, this could potentially be my second most favorite development in metro Atlanta. This could become quite the walkable community if done properly. Let's hope that the overall complex is designed in a gridded manner.

I also hope that the connection to MARTA's Doraville Station is more than just a narrow pedestrian bridge. While I do not think we will see soaring skyscrapers at this location, I do hope we see a cohesive community that is urban and walkable. This could be a win-win for the region AND Marta.

Gridded streets is a must.. and a central greenspace and smaller pocket park style greenspace scattered about would be nice to see. the Marta connection has to be done right. and they do mention there will be an office space component. might be a couple taller buildings in there afterall. doubt it would be on the scale of Atlantic station's office buildings though.

I definitely hope so, but what's your basis for that prediction?

No, and there is no need for any super talls right now.

The current spate of proposals & projects already underway will be totally transformative, especially for Midtown and Buckhead.

Barring any unforeseen huge corporate relocation, I just don't see it happening.

Doubtful as the office rental rates aren't high enough. Suply is high in downtown and midtown and with two large office towers going up in buckhead i don't see there being enough demand to get the 750 mill or so in financing to build a supertall. At most we may see another speculative office tower in buckhead but for the next few years i don't see much outside of residential. There is still a very strong negative view of downtown and midtown among people from outside the perimeter. I told my mom i lived on 12th street and she literally feared for my life. Until perceptions catch up to the reality on the ground you wont see a major recovery in office development as ppl looking for office space dont want to be in those markets and the price premium that buckhead has is unattractive to most start-ups and mid-sized businesses.

And sadly Itsthepopei, we can blame Channel 2 and the AJC for most of this fear. It really pisses me off.

i think a lot of people are really heavy on grids. i don't care what form the streets are in as long as 1) there are a lot of them— no "superblocks", and 2) they connect to each other.

intown, we have a lot of funny streets that wind and turn this way and that, but for the most part, they connect places rather than divide them, and that is the most important part to me.

It isn't just that channel - it is most of them. "if it bleeds, it leads," is the motto of most every local station in the USA. As long as people tune in to the local news it will continue. There are so many critical stories, positive and negative, to be told each evening. Following robberies and gunshots is the cheap, dirty and dependable story for the locals - it cost little and requires almost zero journalistic effort. My solution is to rely on Jon Stewart and PBS for reliable insights into the news.

Gyro Bros File Plans For Midtown

The quick-service Greek restaurant submitted a building permit application to City of Atlanta Thursday to begin the process on its interior buildout in Spire’s street-level A-1 suite.

The 1,113-square-foot space is nestled on the corner of the residential tower next to Five Guys Burgers and Fries.

Great to see this area of Midtown finally filling in.
