The 52nd floor is 641' 10" or 195 meters. (Current top of steel.)

The Tower will be 416.966 meters to the top of the parapet. The 104th floor is 1,313' 10" or 400.3 meters.

I have several programs with Imperial to metric converters but here is a link to a good one online. (It goes both ways, AC DC, lol.)
http://www.worldwidemetric.com/measurements.html

All of this is made more difficult by the PA system of elevation, I have to subtract 311' 2" from what ever is shown on the prints. (The elevation of the finished Lobby floor.)

I always thought there was a 105th floor that was 1335' or something like that...

maybe just my imagination

Too bad they're not building 3 floors at a time instead of 2. That way, it would be rising exactly 40' a shot and save a lot of math.

I couldn't agree more. It would also reduce the "drop off" (waste, scrap). Forty foot lengths are a standard in the US. I strongly suspect they are using 60 footers (also a standard length) and are getting two 26' 4" columns out of each one, but that still leaves 7' 4" of drop off.

PS: A standard length beam from the mill is usually an inch or two over so there would be enough length for milling the ends. (Column ends are milled to within a few thousandths of an inch of square to ensure full bearing.)

Requires Quicktime, the actual, invasive Apple version. WMP, or QT Alternative won't work.

It's still worth it. I told you the view from the top is great.

Wow, bravo!

As far as I can tell, the observer is stationary but can look in any direction. Is it possible to do another view from the northern edge of the building - ie, looking towards Midtown?

Fantastic work, though.

Yep. It's basically a 360x360 panable panorama.

I dislike the silver like trim along the window and corners. It seems visually cheap, but then again, a pre-judgement, thus I might change my opinion when the building is near complete.

I think the point is to emphasize the basic geometry of the chamfered shape. I'm not sure having all the edges just glass would look any "richer." The Hearst tower has similar edging - a lot more of it, actually - and I think it's fair to say it looks fine.
