The Residence Inn project looks great, and will be a nice infill project on that block. Be good to have that surface lot gone on such an important street in the CBD.

I wonder what this is about. There are certainly plenty of lots ready for development - I'd especially like to see the gas station go. I don't think there are substantial differences between CBD-5 and CBD-3, are there?

Great to see so many projects being proposed. I wonder if the hotel boom will last? Perhaps if there is a crackdown on airBnB, it will drive up room rates. With all of the mid-rise projects going on, it's a shame we can't get any true high-rises going.

I'm sure someone in the area is asking for it but main thing is that cbd 5 Doesn't allow bars and is only cbd zoning that makes hotels a conditional use .. it's not the appropriate zoning for sure on these blocks and cbd 3 is

although just a mid rise, it is good to see a new project at West End, Hopefully this is just the beginning. I always felt the Lake would be an attractive location for mid to high rise condominums creating a "true" 2nd skyline.

Always great to see cranes in the sky

Maybe we'll even see more than one on Canal if 1031 ever gets its act together. Btw, it looks like they color-coordinated the one for the Standard.

I wouldn't be upset if they buried those power lines on Cleveland Ave. to go with the rest of the CBD.

I'll second that. I know in NO it's very expensive to bury them, but it could be done. Every time I look at one of the great designs for new buildings, I see ugly power lines.

Is this proposed new theater on the site of the old Robert E Lee theater? I checked the map, but could not be sure.
